Increasing protection of ocean food webs for fisheries and wildlife The California Current Group identifies and ensures appropriate protection of food web hotspots across the California Current to give species a chance to adapt to rapid changes in the ocean.

Contact: Jaime Jahncke

 We do this by:
  • Understanding and predicting the effects of climate change on marine wildlife and the ecosystem.
  • Informing marine spatial planning to enhance the capacity of marine wildlife to adapt to environmental change.
  • Improving conservation and management of the ocean by developing decision-support tools.
  • Communicating our findings to managers, policy makers, and the public to protect marine wildlife and the ecosystem.
