Outreach & Education

A strong education and outreach program is essential to PRBO's mission. By working with children, interns, volunteers and the public, we inspire the current and next generations to act as life-long stewards of the environment.

Partnering with other organizations, PRBO works with teachers, students, and the public to teach people of all ages about ecosystem conservation, often with a focus on birds, while demonstrating ways in which individuals can become involved.

PRBO urges birders and wildlife watchers to act responsibly while viewing birds and other wildlife. Please heed restrictions on access to land, respect nesting birds, and avoid disturbing birds and other wildlife while you are viewing them. For more information you can review the American Birding Association's code of ethics.
